Squaring off the bottom so the block could be stood up was interrupted by a mini-hurricane. We continue from Pt 1 which you can find here. It’s all in the video below so I won’t write too much here.
If you don’t know how to go about flattening a stone, that’s covered early on. I also pull out the pneumatic carving handle for the first time. After that, we cleverly avoid a complete rookie mistake with the hoist, get ready to lift it up on the bench, and then discover that the hoist won’t lift it high enough. We remedy that problem, set the block up on the bench, and we’re finally ready to go!
I’ve fallen behind on the videos. The miniature model is complete, it’s been enlarged to full size, and I’ve cleaned up the block in place. I’ll try to get those videos/posts out fast. I’d love to get this done before the Biden administration starts.
